The Journal Club of East Africa is a dedicated organization-wide training meeting for health care professionals that builds capacity among those that work at the point of care and implement clinical guidelines.

The East Africa Diabetes Study Group (EADSG) will leverage on this emerging eJournal format of journal clubs for capacity building among health care professionals (HCPs) of East Africa, specifically Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Uganda through the Journal Club East Africa (JCEA) Project.

The following will be the functions of face-to-face JCEA and electronic (virtual) JCEA

  1. Support and promote evidence-informed practice and policy
  2. Broaden professional local and national networks
  3. Promote mentorship and collaborative learning
  4. Inspire health promotion research and practice
  5. Highlight new finding in the scientific literature
